Case Converter

Convert text to UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case, Sentence case, camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case or kebab-case.

About the Case Converter

The Case Converter rewrites any text in twelve styles. Five change only the capitals: UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case, Sentence case and iNVERSE cASE, plus the playful aLtErNaTiNg style. The other six are naming conventions from programming: camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case, CONSTANT_CASE and dot.case. Every style shows a live preview, so you can see the result before you pick.

What you can do with the Case Converter

Which style should you use?

Title Case suits headlines, book titles and product names. Sentence case is the normal style for paragraphs, and many design guidelines recommend it for buttons and menus. UPPERCASE works for short labels and acronyms. In code, camelCase is standard for variables in JavaScript and Java, PascalCase for class names and React components, snake_case for Python variables and database columns, kebab-case for URLs and CSS classes, CONSTANT_CASE for constants and environment variables, and dot.case for config keys.

Fixing text typed with Caps Lock on

If a whole paragraph was typed in capitals by accident, choose Sentence case: every letter is lowercased first, then the first letter of each sentence is capitalized again. iNVERSE cASE is another quick fix, it flips every letter, so "hELLO wORLD" becomes "Hello World".

A note on Title Case rules

This tool capitalizes the first letter of every word and lowercases the rest. Formal style guides such as AP and Chicago keep short words like "of", "and" and "the" in lowercase unless they start the title, so adjust those small words after converting. Words with unusual capitals, like "iPhone", will also need a quick manual fix.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Case Converter change numbers or symbols?

The letter-case styles leave numbers, spaces and punctuation untouched. The code styles remove spaces and symbols because they aren't allowed in variable names, but they keep numbers.

Why did Sentence case lowercase names like "London"?

The converter can't tell which words are proper nouns, so it lowercases everything except the first letter of each sentence. Re-capitalize names and places after converting.

What's the difference between camelCase and PascalCase?

Only the first letter. camelCase starts lowercase (userName) and is used for variables and functions; PascalCase starts uppercase (UserName) and is used for class and component names.

Can I download the result?

Yes. Use Copy or Download on the result box.

How do I change text typed in capitals to lowercase without retyping?

Paste the text into the box and tap the lowercase card. The whole text is rewritten in the Result box, which you can copy or download. If you want readable sentences instead, tap Sentence case, then fix any names by hand.

What's the difference between Title Case and Sentence case?

Title Case starts every word with a capital, like "Hello Big World", and suits headings. Sentence case capitalises only the first letter of each sentence, like "Hello big world.", which is how normal paragraphs are written.

When should I use snake_case or kebab-case?

snake_case, like user_first_name, is common for Python variables and database columns. kebab-case, like user-first-name, is used in web addresses, CSS class names and file names. Both are lowercase and differ only in the joining character.

What is CONSTANT_CASE used for?

CONSTANT_CASE puts every letter in capitals and joins words with underscores, like MAX_LOGIN_ATTEMPTS. Programmers use it for constants and environment variables, such as API_KEY or DATABASE_URL, so they stand out from ordinary variables.

How do I fix text I typed with Caps Lock on by mistake?

Use iNVERSE case, which swaps every letter's case. Text like "hELLO rAHUL, hOW ARE YOU?" becomes "Hello Rahul, how are you?" in one tap, keeping the capitals that should be there in the right places.

Does it work with Hindi or other Indian scripts?

Scripts such as Devanagari, Tamil and Bengali have no capital letters, so case styles leave those words unchanged. In mixed text, only the English letters change case, so a Hinglish sentence gets its English words converted while the Hindi stays as typed.

Does it convert all my lines or only the first one?

It converts the entire text, every line. The small previews on the style cards only show your first line so you can compare styles quickly, but tapping a card rewrites everything you pasted in the Result box.
