EPF Calculator

Estimate your EPF balance at retirement from your basic pay, age, yearly pay rise and the 8.25% EPF interest rate.

Where your PF money goes

Your 12% goes fully into EPF. Your employer's 12% is split: 8.33% of pay, capped at ₹1,250 a month (8.33% of the ₹15,000 wage limit), goes to the Employees' Pension Scheme, and the rest goes into your EPF. The pension part is not in your EPF balance; it gives you a monthly pension later.

What you can do with the EPF Calculator

EPF interest rate

EPFO sets the rate every year. It is 8.25% for 2025-26. Interest is calculated on your monthly running balance and credited once a year.

VPF for more savings

You can choose to put in more than 12% as a Voluntary Provident Fund. It earns the same rate. Interest on your own contributions above ₹2.5 lakh a year is taxable.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much EPF will I have at 58?

At ₹25,000 basic pay from age 25, rising 5% a year, with 8.25% interest, about ₹1.77 crore. Change the sliders to match your pay.

Why is the employer share smaller than mine?

Because 8.33% of it goes to the pension scheme (EPS), up to ₹1,250 a month. Only what is left goes into your EPF.

Is EPF withdrawal taxable?

Not after 5 years of continuous service. Withdrawing earlier can be taxable, and TDS may apply.

What is the EPF interest rate for 2025-26?

8.25%, confirmed by the government. EPFO sets the rate each year.

What is EPS?

The Employees' Pension Scheme. Part of your employer's contribution (8.33% of pay, up to ₹1,250 a month) goes there and pays you a monthly pension after 58, if you have at least 10 years of service.

Can I contribute more than 12%?

Yes, through the Voluntary Provident Fund (VPF). It earns the EPF rate. Interest on your own contributions above ₹2.5 lakh a year is taxable.

Can I withdraw EPF before retirement?

Partly, for needs like a house, medical treatment, marriage or education. Full withdrawal is allowed after you have been out of work for a set period. EPFO changed these rules in 2025, so check the current conditions on the EPFO portal. Withdrawing before 5 years of service can be taxable.

Is the ₹15,000 wage limit important?

PF is mandatory on pay up to ₹15,000 a month. Many employers pay their 12% only on ₹15,000 even when your basic pay is higher. Pick that option to see the difference.

Does my EPF move when I change jobs?

Yes. Your UAN stays the same, and you can transfer the balance online to the new employer's account.

Why is the result an estimate?

Future pay rises and interest rates are not known. The calculator assumes they stay as you set them.
