About the Salary Calculator
The Salary Calculator converts pay between yearly, monthly, weekly, daily and hourly amounts, based on the hours and days you actually work. It also shows the salary in LPA (lakhs per annum) and what a hike of any percentage would do to your monthly pay.
What you can do with the Salary Calculator
- Any pay period: Convert between yearly, monthly, weekly, daily and hourly.
- Your real hours: Based on the hours and days you actually work.
- LPA view: See the salary in lakhs per annum.
- Hike preview: Slide a hike % to see your new monthly pay.
Why hours and days matter
An annual salary says nothing about the hourly rate until you know how many hours it represents. The same ₹6,00,000 a year is a very different hourly rate at 40 hours a week than at 60. Many Indian jobs run six days a week, so the calculator starts at 48 hours over 6 days, change both sliders to match your job.
Gross, not take-home
These figures are gross, before income tax, provident fund, insurance or other deductions. Your actual take-home pay will be lower. Use this to compare offers on the same basis, then look at the net figure separately.
Comparing job offers
Convert every offer to the same unit, usually per month or per hour, before comparing. A higher annual figure with much longer hours can be a lower hourly rate. The hike slider helps you see what a raise really adds each month.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this my take-home salary?
No. It shows gross pay before tax and deductions. Net pay depends on your tax regime, PF and other deductions.
What does LPA mean?
Lakhs per annum: the yearly salary divided by 1,00,000. ₹6,00,000 a year is 6 LPA.
How many weeks does it use for a year?
52 weeks and 12 months per year, the standard convention for salary conversions.
How much is 12 LPA per month?
12 LPA means ₹12,00,000 a year, which is ₹1,00,000 a month gross. Your in-hand pay is lower after income tax, your PF contribution and other deductions, and it also depends on how your CTC is split.
How do I convert a daily wage to a monthly salary?
Enter the daily amount, choose Day and set your working days per week. For example, ₹800 a day for 6 days a week gives ₹2,49,600 a year, about ₹20,800 a month (2.50 LPA), using 52 weeks in a year.
How is the hourly rate calculated?
The yearly pay is divided by 52 weeks and then by your hours per week. ₹50,000 a month at 48 hours a week is about ₹240.38 an hour, while the same salary at 40 hours a week is about ₹288.46 an hour.
Why is my per-day pay different from my salary slip?
Employers use different rules for daily pay, such as dividing the monthly salary by 26, 30 or the number of days in that month. This calculator uses your working days: at 6 days a week, the daily figure is the monthly pay ÷ 26.
What is the difference between CTC and gross salary?
CTC is the total cost to the company, including items like employer PF, gratuity, insurance and bonuses. Gross salary is what is paid to you before deductions. This calculator converts whatever amount you enter and does not split CTC into parts.
How do I calculate my salary after a hike?
Set the Hike slider to your percentage. For 8 LPA, a 15% hike gives 9.20 LPA, so monthly pay goes from about ₹66,667 to about ₹76,667, which is ₹10,000 more a month before deductions.
How do I compare two job offers with different working hours?
Enter each offer and compare the hourly figure. ₹60,000 a month for 48 hours a week works out to about ₹288 an hour, while ₹55,000 for 40 hours a week is about ₹317 an hour, so the lower salary pays more per hour.
Can I convert a freelance hourly rate into a monthly income?
Yes. Enter the rate, choose Hour and set your weekly hours: ₹500 an hour for 40 hours a week is about ₹86,667 a month, or 10.40 LPA. This assumes paid work every week and is before tax.
