Working Days Calculator
Count working days between two dates with your weekly off (Sat + Sun, Sunday only, or Fri + Sat), minus holidays, plus working hours.
About the Working Days Calculator
The Working Days Calculator counts the working days between two dates, including both the start and end date. Choose your weekly off, Saturday and Sunday, Sunday only, or Friday and Saturday, subtract any holidays, and it also shows working hours and working weeks.
What you can do with the Working Days Calculator
- Your weekly off: Sat–Sun, Sunday only, or Fri–Sat.
- Holidays: Subtract public or company holidays.
- Inclusive count: Counts both the start and end date.
- Hours and weeks: Also shows working hours and working weeks.
Choose your weekly off
Office jobs usually take Saturday and Sunday off, many Indian shops, factories and schools work six days with only Sunday off, and some countries use a Friday–Saturday weekend. Pick the one that matches your work and the count updates instantly.
Subtract public holidays
Holidays differ between countries, states and employers, so add them yourself with the "Holidays in this period" slider. Count only the holidays that fall on a working day, a holiday on a Sunday doesn't reduce a Sunday-off count.
Common uses
Estimating delivery times quoted in business days, counting leave days, planning project schedules, working out notice periods or deadlines set in working days, and checking the working hours in a month.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the count include the start and end date?
Yes, both dates are included. A Monday-to-Friday range gives 5 working days.
Can it count a six-day working week?
Yes. Choose "Sunday only" as the weekly off and Saturdays are counted as working days.
Does it remove public holidays?
Enter the number of holidays in the range with the slider and they're taken off the working days.
How many working days are in a year?
A typical year has 260 or 261 weekdays with Saturday and Sunday off, and about 313 with only Sunday off, before public holidays.
How do I count working days with second and fourth Saturdays off?
Choose "Sunday only" as the weekly off, then add the second and fourth Saturdays in your date range to the Holidays slider. This matches the pattern followed by banks in India. For one full month, that usually means adding 2 holidays.
Should I count a holiday that falls on a Sunday?
No. Only count holidays that fall on a working day, because a holiday on your weekly off doesn't remove a working day. If Diwali or another festival lands on a Sunday and Sunday is already off, leave it out of the Holidays slider.
How many working days are there in a month?
With Saturday and Sunday off, a month usually has 20 to 23 working days before holidays. In 2026, February has 20, July and December have 23, and most other months have 21 or 22. Enter the first and last day of the month to see the exact count.
How do I count working days excluding the start date?
The tool always counts both the start and end date. To exclude the start date, set the start to the next day, or subtract 1 if the start date is a working day. This matters for deadlines like "within 5 working days" from today.
What if I enter the end date before the start date?
The tool swaps them automatically and counts the days between them in the normal order, so you get the same result either way. It still includes both dates in the count.
How do I work out my working hours for a month?
Set the date range, weekly off and holidays, then move the Working hours per day slider to your usual shift, from 1 to 16 hours in half-hour steps. 25 working days at 8 hours a day gives 200 working hours, shown in the stats.
Which weekly off should I choose for Gulf countries?
Choose Fri + Sat for countries with a Friday–Saturday weekend, such as Saudi Arabia. The UAE moved to a Saturday–Sunday weekend for government offices in 2022, so Sat + Sun fits there. Check the employer's own policy, as private companies can differ.
